Almost four years ago, I fell in love for the first time--twenty-five years too late--and began an affair. Over the years, Kevin and I have met several times a week and email several times a day. I have kept almost all of the emails that I sent to him and that he sent to me. Along the way, there has been laughter and tenderness and heat...and heartache.

This blog is the posting of our daily emails. It chronicles the lives of two people over a four year period so far, and tells the story of our burgeoning love against the backdrop of New York City.

The names and addresses have been changed to protect the innocent; the rest is 100% real.

The daily update structure helps keep the blog as authentic as possible as well as living up to its title. It also strives to provide the reader with the kind of pleasure that a soap opera offers--a daily dose of voyeuristic fun.

I'm glad you did. I didn't last night, because I already had after our "conversation" earlier in the day : )  Although, I was quite tempted to have seconds.

Today is going to be nuts. My husband suddenly had to leave, when I'm supposed to pick up Nadi from camp at 12:30. So, I had to call my car service guy. Then I was supposed to pick up my friend Sabine’s son from Rye to take both kids to this Bounce place which is full of trampolines, etc. Then meet Sabine and co for dinner. No kids including her sister are around, so Nadi’s pouting for her birthday. The first kid, I planned to come in the spring. This one I didn't plant and see what happens, you have to apologize for the time of year you give them birth. Knowing me must remind you how good you have it.

So, I won't be around today until later. I love you! Rehearsal today?

No rehearsal tonight.  We are getting together tomorrow night.  Tonight I am going to see Alan Cummings perform Macbeth by himself.  It should be interesting.

The day is turning out better than I expected. Husband got a job! Now, less money worries, and more time for my Shiny New Boyfriend! He's starting July 30. So the first two weeks of August, no husband, no children. I'm free as a bird during the day. I hope you have a day or two off like on Friday.

That is great news.  Being out of work must be awful. 

The bad news is that I will be in Minnesota from August 2nd to August 9th.  I will be home alone though from the 10th to the 13th.  We can definitely work something out.
