Almost four years ago, I fell in love for the first time--twenty-five years too late--and began an affair. Over the years, Kevin and I have met several times a week and email several times a day. I have kept almost all of the emails that I sent to him and that he sent to me. Along the way, there has been laughter and tenderness and heat...and heartache.

This blog is the posting of our daily emails. It chronicles the lives of two people over a four year period so far, and tells the story of our burgeoning love against the backdrop of New York City.

I love being your girlfriend, it's so much fun! I'm not even on the road yet, and I miss you already. I'll write though so that should be fine, except I just miss you anyway and nothing will help that until I see you again. Maybe I should take up a new hobby like you suggested when you were going away : )

I'll write when I get to the hotel. We stay at this Marriott in Bethesda that has firm beds for my back. It's all suites but it's dirt cheap comparing to hotels in NYC with a sofa bed in the living room. So, my husband and the girls stay in one suite, and I in another, so I should have plenty of privacy.
